A 24 hour Accident and Emergency Service for Gloucester, the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire south to Berkeley. Department operates a nurse triage system, patient needs being assessed on arrival. It has full diagnostic service available and is supported by Trauma and Resuscitation teams. An Emergency Nurse Practitioner Service is available at specific times, when specially trained nurses can see and treat people with a variety of minor injuries. There is a bereavement service run by the department for those suffering sudden loss of family or friends.
