The Disabled Facilities Grant is intended to make the dwelling of a disabled person more suitable to live in, and to help the person manage more independently. Works can include - access into the dwelling (ramps, door widening), access around the dwelling, extensions or alterations to provide adequate washing and toilet facilities, kitchen facilities, improving heating and controls. GCC require a referral from a Social Services Occupational Therapist stating that work is necessary. All grant applicants are subject to a test of resources.
