Cheltenham Open Door's premises in Grosvenor Street are open all year round, offering hospitality, warmth and food to those who need them. The weekday service is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 10.30am to 1.45pm. Self-service hot drinks and toast on tap and a meal is served from 12noon to 12.45pm. There are showers (towels and soap provided) and a clothes store, a professional chiropodist every few weeks and upstairs a room to relax in. On Sundays they are open from 9.45-11.45pm, to serve a continuous hot grill breakfast and a packet of sandwiches to take away.
A Christmas Shelter is held at St. Luke's Hall. It is open 24 hours a day from lunch on Christmas Eve to after lunch a few days later, usually the 27th December. There are a limited number of beds available overnight.
The shelter is in need of food, clothing and money which can be taken to Grosvenor Street. Volunteers are also welcome - in the preparation period (20th-24th) or when the shelter is functioning. For further information please contact the charity on 01242-577 418 or the Hon Secretary, Philip Warner on 01242-576 701.
