Dressability

Comment: |
Dressability is a Swindon based charity group helping disabled and elderly people who find clothes and dressing a problem. The scheme, set up in 1998, adapts clothing and where necessary produces custom-made items designed for specific disabilities.
Clients do not have to be registered disabled to benefit from the help on offer. Many elderly people who have difficulty using their hands are able to have clothes adjusted with velcro and a bit of design ingenuity to help them wear old favourites again. A tie can be adapted to clip on easily. People in wheelchairs often need items of clothing adjusted to meet their specific needs. Temporary disability can also be catered for such as an aid to help someone with a broken leg pull on a sock.
