The Community Support service, though provided by the Stonham Housing Association, is not exclusive to residents of Stonham Housing. The service is for anyone in the Cheltenham area (over 18 years) who may have mental health problems, learning disabilities or a high level of stress due to a low income. It is for people who want to live independently, but need some support to do this. Support is provided by a team of outreach workers who can visit you at home and at weekends (also overnight in emergencies). They can help with cooking, shopping and practical household routines, using public transport, managing money and benefits advice, access to work and training, settling into a new home, building up the confidence to look after your own children. It is a free and confidential service, but generally a referral from a Social Worker is required. An application form has to be filled in to receive the service.
