Comment:

Anchor Staying Put is a project run by Anchor Trust in partnership with Tewkesbury Borough Council, to help older home owners and people with a disability, with repairs and adaptations to their homes, so they can continue to live in comfort and safety. Advice is free. If works proceed, then a reasonable fee is charged for technical services. In most cases fees are covered by a grant. They also run a small repairs service, subsidised by Tewkesbury Borough Council. the costs are approximately £5 per hour plus materials. They are also part of the Fast Access Service Teams (FAST) scheme. They can also complete Welfare Benefit checks and apply for benefits (Attendance Allowance, Income Support etc) with their clients. Due to limited resources this service is for clients of the Staying Put, FAST or Small Repairs Schemes only. Also security work can be carried out ie. door locks, window locks, spyholes, funded partlt by Tewkesbury Borough Council and Gloucestershire Police. The office is open 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday, answer machine in operation when the office is manned.
