ASPIRE works with spinally injured people and those with other disabilities helping to integrate them back into society. It funds aspire houses which provide a stepping stone between hospital and home and operates a fund which assists in the provision of specialist wheelchairs, equipment and computer adaptations. ASPIRE funds a professional chair in disability and technology which ensures that disabled people benefit from advances in technology. The charity also runs the ASPIRE National Training Centre in Stanmore, Middlesex, which aims to improve participation by disabled people in sport and leisure. The facilities include a 25m swimming pool with ramped access, fitness studio, click cafe, sports hall and purpose built dance studio. There is also a state-of-the-art training suite which runs back-to-work, carer and computer courses and ha an adaptation service.
