Formerly CareSearch, DCR is a computerised information service for those looking for residential supported or day services in Britain, for adults with disabilities. The computer contains a range of care situations including voluntary and private homes, schools and colleges, day or respite services, ordinary or sheltered housing and specialist communities. If a search is requested, the enquirer will need to complete a questionnaire which can be done over the phone. A search is then made and a list of matching homes is sent. Also, we publish an annual, free, publication called "Special Care". It is "the" transition guide for all young adults with special needs considering their options and looking to the future. Copies available throughout England primarily, through connexions partnerships.
