British Red Cross services include First Aid at public events, escort and transport by car and minibus with access for people with mobility problems. There is a Medical Loan Service for items such as wheelchairs, bathing aids etc, a Carers Emergency Card Scheme and an International Tracing and Message service to reunite families who have been separated by war, conflict, or natural disaster. The British Red Cross also supplies emergency clothing and support for asylum seekers. There is a Therapeutic Care and Massage service. A skin camoflauge service is also available which provides training to mask natural birth marks or permanent skin complaints.
They also work with the emergency services to supply welfare support for those facing crisis, via the emergency response scheme, fire victim support and police transport scheme. eg If people are made homeless by a fire at their home, the British Red Cross have a Victim Support trailer/caravan to provide immediate support and comfort to the victims at the scene of the fire.
