CLIC is a national charity committed to providing the best possible support to children with cancer and leukaemia and their families throughout the UK. It is dependent on voluntary contributions to maintain and develop its vital services. CLIC Care Grants provide support during financial crisis, they can arrange short term holidays as respite from treatment, specially adapted play equipment for young children and other specialist equipment. CLIC also operates a penpal scheme and newsletters for teenagers. CLIC runs Homes from Home - free self-catering accommodation close to specialist oncology centres around the UK. 'Sam's House' in Bristol is the first to include clinical treatment rooms. CLIC nurses work in hospitals, doctors' clinics and the community providing care for children at home and school as well as in hospital. CLIC also funds research at Bristol University and the HEBA Research Centre, Edinburgh.
