Fair Shares - Stonehouse

Comment:

FAIR SHARES is a new kind of money based on time. You earn one Fair Share for each hour that you spend providing a service for another participant. You can spend your Fair Shares when you need a service from someone else, give them to a member of your family who needs some help or save them up for future use. The project works across a wide age range, 14 to 88 years, and like the other Fair Shares schemes, includes people of all abilities. Its membership has now grown to over 60 participants who offer a diverse range of services from the ever popular dog-walking and gardening to the more unusual hill walking and paper making. There is also a Fair Shares Goods Exchange where participants can trade in their credits for the loan of a ladder or other useful items.
