Co-operative futures exists to Support and Develop Co-operative and Social Enterprise, and to help and promote Credit Unions.
Social Enterprises are businesses that trade to deliver their social aims:
Trading - aim to be a viable business;
Social Purpose - have defined social purpose e.g. job creation and/or provision of local goods & services.
Social Ownership - they are owned & run by their communities, and profits are distributed either by profit sharing or for the benefit of the community.
Credit Union - is a non-profit making financial co-operative run by and for its members.
Co-operative Futures is involved with National networks, and offers support and advice for new and existing Social Enterprise.
