Organisation: Staunton and District Over 60's Club

Comment:

Staunton and District Over 60's Club has approximately sixty members, and meets fortnightly on Mondays from 10:30am to 12:30pm, in premises designed to provide access for disabled people.
Events include coffee and biscuits, talks, demonstrations, quizzes, raffles, special services, day trips, holidays and an active bring and buy shop. Areas covered are Maisemore, Hartpury, Ashleworth and Staunton. Cathedral Coaches and Newent Dial-a-Ride bring members to meetings.
Club membership (for 2006), with a year's calendar of events, costs £5.00.

On alternate Mondays, from 10:15am to 2:15pm, a club for more physically disabled is held, ie those nearly housebound; there is no annual membership fee, but lunch is provided at a cost of £4.00 for the day. Transport for this is provided by volunteers. Contact for the Housebound Group is Mrs. Jane Evans, Gadfield Elm House, Staunton (phone 01452-840302).
