Organisation: The Arts Dyslexia Trust

Comment:

The Arts Dyslexia Trust is a national charity which aims:
to draw attention to the high creative potential of the many visually-dominant dyslexic minds;
to help to bridge the gulf of misunderstanding that often exists between those who think
most easily in words and those who those who prefer to think visually;
to encourage research into the connection between dyslexia and good visual-spatial faculties which can lead to exceptional ability and achievement in the arts and sciences.
This ability to think in visual terms is a valuable specific attribute of the human brain which we all possess to a greater or lesser extent according to our genetic make-up. The Trust aims to encourage people to recognize and develop it for their own practical purposes and enjoyment, and for the insight it can give into problems that so urgently need solution.
The Trust provides an advisory service for educationalists and others concerned with the above questions, and offers practical help to dyslexic students and adults in their art/design training and careers.
