Invalids at Home helps people with severe disability or long term illness to live at home as long as possible in greater comfort and security by making grants to help with the costs of goods and services not already covered by statutory provision. These include help with some of the heavy additional costs of living at home with a disability, providing equipment to improve safety and independence, and meeting inevitable emergencies. Grants are not made to cover medical treatment, telephone rental, televisions, holidays or motor vehicles. It is the policy to ask that any Trust specific to a persons disability or background be approached first - SCOPE or a Trade Union for example. No grants can be made to groups of people, organisations or anyone living in institutional care.
