Ivemark syndrome is the association of congenital absence of the spleen with abnormalities predominantly of the cardiovascular system. The common clinical presentation is with cyanosis (blueness). Other symptoms include shortness of breath, loss of energy and cardiac failure due to the severe heart abnormalities.
The Ivemark Syndrome Association provides emotional support to anyone who has or knows a child affected by this rare syndrome (also known as Right Atrial Isomerism). Where possible the Association hopes to link families to share helpful information. There are contacts world wide.
