The Sudden and Unexpected Bereavement Service offers early bereavement support for people who experience the sudden, unexpected death of a loved one in the Emergency Department. The service is held once fortnightly on Wednesdays, and is run by two emergency nurse/ bereavement counsellors who specialised in sudden, unexpected loss.
This service offers support by way of telephone, counselling support, home visits or by an appointment within the hospital complex usually up to a maximum of six to eight sessions.
