Organisation:Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Comment:

The Bobath Centre is a non-profit making organisation and a registered charity that specialises in the treatment of cerebral palsy in children.
The Bobath treatment concept was developed by Dr. and Mrs. Bobath in the 1940's and is an holistic interdisciplinary approach involving occupational, physiotherapy, speech and language therapists. They provide treatment on an individual basis (outpatient only) and their therapists teach parents and carers how to continue therapy at home and/or in school. The Centre organises post-graduate training courses in the Bobath treatment approach for physiotherapy, occupational and speech language therapists working with children who have cerebal palsy.
There is also a seperate centre, within the same building, treating adults with acquired neurological conditions (see separate record).
