Organisation: Association of Charity Officers

Comment:

The Association of Charity Officers (ACO) was founded in 1946 by twenty charities, and now has over two hundred members, all of whom are registered or exempt charities, giving non-contributory relief and helping people from all walks of life. Many member funds are specific to particular trades, professions or disabilities. The Association's aims have always been to improve co-operation between funds for the benefit of the beneficiaries. It is consulted by Government about legislative change and considers the effects on charities and their beneficiaries. It aims to put those in need of help in touch with those who can give more help through the helpline. It has no funds of its own for grant aid.
