RLC Portsmouth provides advice and representations to those who have made or making an initial claim for asylum. They provide representation at first stage asylum appeals before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT). They provide advice and representation to clients who have been granted permission to stay in the United Kingdom. They can assist with family re-union applications to those who have been granted asylum and humanitarian protection.
They see clients on an appointment basis only. Appointments can be made by telephone or in person. They are happy to accept referrals from other agencies. They have particular experience and expertise in representing clients detained at Haslar Immigration Removal Centre.
They can assist with deportation matters, deportation appeals, and in making bail applications and provide legal representations at bail hearings.
Home visits are available for those clients who are incapacitated and otherwise unable to access the services. Professional interpreters are available for all full client interviews. Please note all services are subject to available resources.
