The Refugee Legal Centre in Bedford provides representation to persons who have made an initial claim for asylum. They provide representation at first stage asylum appeals before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT). In selected case they may be able to refer appeals for reconsideration to the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal and the higher courts to the Refugee Legal Centre's Central London Office.
They provide services to both detained and non-detained clients and assist in making bail applications and provide legal representations at bail hearings. They have particular experience and expertise in representing clients at Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre under the Fast Track system. They are able to facilitate home visits for those clients who are incapacitated and otherwise unable to access our services.
The Refugee Legal Centre Bedford office has wheelchair access, a lift, toilet a facilities for the disabled and hearing loop.
