The Tyddyn Bach Trust is located in the Welsh hills, and offers respite care to anyone living with HIV/AIDS, their partners, families and carers, irrespective of their race, gender, sexuality, culture or religious beliefs. The services offered are based mainly at Tyddyn Bach with an outreach program serving a wider North Wales Community. Tyddyn Bach provides quality one to one respite-short breaks or long weekends-for up to ten residents. Respite admissions are provided as part of the assessed package of care in conjunction with the referral agent. Respite care can be helpful in supporting those beginning or changing medication or just offering a break away from the every day trials of living with HIV. They give help also with practical issues too:- healthy eating, help to stop smoking, how to approach social services and what facilities are available. The Tyddyn Bach HIV / AIDS Respite Centre is not a nursing home, and cannot accept people who cannot care for themselves or self-administer their own medication. However, trained staff and volunteers are available for support and guidance twenty four hours a day.
