The Mobility Service has a telephone enquiry service offering advice and information on any driving matter relating to disability, with details of local adaptation specialists and a list of approved driving instructors.
Demonstrations of vehicle adaptations, equipment and aids and informal assessments of outdoor mobility problems and possible solutions are also offered. There is no charge for this service although an appointment with a mobillity service occupational therapist is required.
Also offered is a driving assessment service for any disabled person aged sixteen or over. Assessments are conducted by specially trained approved driving instructors and a mobility service occupational therapist. An appointment is needed for this service and a fee is payable.
