Comment:

About 3% of the population are estimated to suffer from Mercury sensitivity. Mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man and is a cumulative poison which may only result in symptoms becoming apparant after many years. Tests can be carried out (blood and urine) to determine a person's sensitivity and whether they have a build up of mercury in their body. A list of dental practitioners who can remove and replace mercury fillings is available from the society, along with details of the tests.
More information, including list of practitioners, on file (National).
