Comment: | The Parents Information and Contact Service provides a support group for parents of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities living in Gloucestershire. Social meetings are arranged to share information, hold discussion groups and offer counselling and home visits. This group is for parents all over Gloucestershire and is 'user-lead', with parents deciding on what kinds of support they need and support being offered through activities and meetings.
Social events, such as barbecues and barn dances, are held during the year. There is a fathers' group, an informal support group. They also organise an activity holiday for parents, children with special needs and their siblings.
There is also a drop-in facility at the Nigel Hunter Nursery at Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary on Thursday mornings. |
