The toy library provides toys and equipment to children with special needs and disabilities in the Stroud, Dursley and Tetbury areas. It was set up in 1995 by parents and Community Nurses. The lending sessions (currently three a month) are held in the Committee room at the Trinity Rooms in Stroud. The sessions also provide the opportunity for parents to meet and share ideas and problems, and where health professionals can provide informal advice on a wide range of related issues.
Other services provided: outings and activities during half-term breaks and school holidays; annual childrens's Christmas party; trips to Worcester Snoezelen Centre; trip to Cattle country, Bournstream Adventure playground near Wotton Under Edge; Seven Springs play and support centre near Cheltenham; trip to Burford Wildlife Park; Willow Trust trip; Easter egg hunts; swimming; Bristol Zoo; Weston; Circus; Pantomime; Legoland.
There are lending sessions on a Tuesday twice per month 12:30 and 2:15pm for the first Tuesday and 10:00-12:00on the second. There is also a lending session on one Saturday every month, 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
