FCL (The Family Contact Line) offers confidential emotional support through a national telephone helpline and a regional counselling service. All volunteers are trained listeners, with the counsellors being either qualified or in the final stages of training. FCL work with people on almost any issue, and can also help to find local resources for other forms of support.
Their bereavement service provides emotional support for both adults and children over the age of ten. There is an adjoining Family Centre which provides support for parents, daycare where appropriate and provisions for pregnant women and babies.
FCL is an organisational member of the Telephone Helplines Association and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
