Comment: | The Chinese Women's Guild offers support, advice and educational training to chinese women and their families and through its Interpretation service, acts as a bridge to Local Authorities for those with English difficulties. Cantonese, Hakka, and Mandarin are spoken. A Home Visit service is run for the elderly, frail and all in need. The Advocacy Service can help with visits to Doctors, Dentists, etc, and provide transport for the elderly. Visits to Nursing / Residential homes and even daily needs can sometimes be cared for. Benefits advice is also available. The Guild also runs a Mothers' Club, Goh Ling Lok Elders and Carers group (every Thursday 10:00am to 4:30pm) and serves asylum seekers and refugees in need.
They also offer a countywide floating support service for older people and older people with mental health problems, through the Supporting People programme. |
