The Team aims to offer a mental health and social care service that is culturally sensitive to meet the needs of the African, Chinese, Asian and African-Caribbean communities in Gloucestershire.
A team of workers, male and female, represent these communities, and offer support, advice and information to people who have experience of mental ill health, whether personally or as a carer. Workers are able to communicate in a variety of languages, eg. Gujurati, Patois, Mandarin, Cantonese, Urdu and Bengali.
The workers also offer home and hospital visits, welfare rights and benefits advice, educational and recreational activities and support groups.
