Organisation:Equality and Human Rights Commission

Comment:

This is the main London office of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. On 1st. October 2007 the three previous equality commissions merged into the new Commission. They were:
+ the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE);
+ the Disability Rights Commission (DRC);
+ the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).
The websites of these commissions have also been incorporated into the new Equality and Human Rights Commission website.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission champions equality and human rights for all, working to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission runs four helplines, two in England and one each in Scotland and Wales - please see separate records for these.
