Comment: | In 1981 Dewdown House was acquired by The Salvation Army Housing Association. The old building was demolished and the present purpose designed building erected. Salvation Army Social Services are responsible for the management. There is accommodation for forty men and women, in single bedrooms. Each room has a wash hand basin, emergency call buzzer and TV point. A range of activities are offered including sing-a-longs, armchair aerobics and handicraft sessions. Outings are arranged during the year, and there is an in-house hairdressing salon and a shop. |
