The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities (FPLD) the leading UK charity researching learning disability issues. They campaign and undertake research on learning disability issues, as well as providinginformation on topics such as advocacy, accommodation and employment.
They aim to help people, services and organisations to develop - the development support work can be described in six main themes.
1. implementing person centred planning;
2. developing partnership working;
3. modernising day services and developing the capacity of communities to welcome and include people with learning disabilities;
4. young people and transition;
5. health, including mental health;
6. developing leaders.
