Comment:

Founded in 1917, PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity, providing free veterinary care to the pets of needy people through a network of forty three PetAid hospitals, four PetAid branches and more than three hundred associated private practices (known as PetAid practices).
To be eligible for PDSA help pet owners must be in receipt of either Council Tax Benefit or Housing Benefit and live within the designated postcode area of a PDSA PetAid hospital or practice. Details can be obtained by phoning PDSA's freephone veterinary enquiry line on 0800-731-2502.
PDSA's veterinary services are funded entirely by public support, mainly through donations and gifts in wills. PDSA veterinary staff provide more than 1.2 million free consultations each year, treating an average of 4,650 sick and injured pets every working day.
PDSA also has a children's club - Pet Protectors.
