The activities of this society are numerous. They include: organising conferences (see their website for details of recent conferences and other activities); liaising with National and International bodies to formulate health motivated food policies; publishing a Nutrition and Health Journal, plus a quarterly newsletter.
The aims of the Society are to: promote optimum nutrition and health; to promote an understanding of the role of nutrition in health, and conversely, as a major cause of non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, vascular disease, some cancers and the rising problem of psychiatric disorders; to urge the inclusion of nutrition and health training in schools as a major tool in the prevention of nutrition related disorders.
