The Shiatsu Society is the focal point for anyone interested in Shiatsu, whether teachers, practitioners, students or patients. The Society was set up in 1981 to facilitate communication, and to inform the public of the benefits of this form of natural healing. Since then the Society has formed a network linking those interested. In addition it now fulfils the role of professional association for practitioners and teachers of Shiatsu. The Society's website has been re-launched and now includes a full register of qualified practitioners, graduates and teachers. All registered practitioners have passed the Society's independent assessment and are allowed the designated letters MRSS, for Members of the Register of the Shiatsu Society
