Comment: | Portage is a home-visiting educational service for pre-school children who have special needs, and based on the principle that parents are the key figures in the care and development of their child. The Association aims to:
+ campaign for Portage services to be made more available;
+ support service standards by providing workshops with an agreed curriculum at initial and advanced levels;
+ develop positive monitoring procedures
+ offer a code of practice as a model for delivering services;
+ encourage new developments within Portage practice.
