In 1943 The Methodist Church founded Methodist Homes for the Aged (MHA), to care for older people in need. Today MHA Care Group is the parent company of a charitable group providing care and accommodation services for older people. MHA operates throughout Britain, providing care homes, housing and support services, with a particular emphasis on the quality and meaning of life for older people. The organisation supports more than six and a half thousand older people in residential and nursing care homes, specialist dementia care homes, sheltered housing schemes and community projects. MHA employs three and a half thousand staff and enjoys the support and dedication of more than five thousand volunteers.
