The British Association Of Dermatologists (BAD) is the only professional organisation representing UK dermatologists, with several defined objectives:
(a) to stimulate and promote appropriate medical and scientific research into the causes, effects and treatment of skin disease and to publish the results;
(b) to collect, collate and publish information relevant to dermatology, and to hold conferences, meetings and seminars for the purposes of promoting and disseminating information;
(c) to publish The British Journal of Dermatology;
(d) to advise Government and other professional bodies on dermatology.
BAD also hosts the British Skin Foundation which funds relevant research in the UK.
