The Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) is a leading independent Scottish voluntary organisation concerned with mental health. It campaigns for better hospital and community services, seeks to increase understanding of mental distress, and promotes mental health and recovery. Various publications have been produced and a publications list is available on request.. The Information Service is open from 2:00pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. SAMH offers free advice on benefits and legal matters concerning Mental Health - i.e. detention in hospital.
