Comment: | Established in 1905, Friends of the Elderly provides nursing, residential and dementia care from seventeen sites, the closest to Gloucestershire being Malvern (Hereford and Worcester) and Moulsford (Oxfordshire). Friends also offer support services to people in their own homes and run day centres, including several in Worcestershire, to promote greater independence amongst older people. In addition, Friends awards welfare grants nationally in cases of hardship and helps people to access other funds they may be entitled to. They assist more than two thousand people each week. |
