Comment:

The Disfigurement Guidance Centre was founded as a charity to provide support and information for disfigured people and their professional advisors. If you need help and advice, please contact them by fax or in writing (please enclose a stamped addressed envelope and your phone number).
They publish a range of booklets, particularly aimed at a United Kingdom audience, but much of it is of general help wherever you are.
They also produce the International Skinlaser Directory which lists providers of skin laser treatment around the world. It also provides doctors and patients with essential facts about skin lasers and skin laser treatments - anything from excess hair and liver spots, to vascular birthmarks, acne scarring, 'broken veins', wrinkles, sun-damaged skin and unwanted tattoos, can now be treated by the new generation of lasers. In many cases in the UK treatment is available within the NHS. Printed copies are available free to UK General Practitioners. It can also be purchased, and can be accessed on the internet - go to www.skinlaserdirectory.org.uk/UnitedKingdom.htm for the UK version.
