Comment:

The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) runs this cancer information service - a confidential telephone helpline - providing information on all aspects of cancer to patients, relatives and health professionals. The helpline is staffed by trained nurse counsellors and operates from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. The service can also provide counselling and information for cancer patients and their families, but does not provide diagnosis or recommendations for the treatment of individual cases.
The service can provide information on the support groups that are available for all cancers throughout Northern Ireland. There is a confidential fitting service for ladies following a mastectomy, provided by trained volunteers who have needed the service themselves. For this and details of all the services, please phone the Helpline. UCF also offers a range of other services, including counselling, art therapy and support groups.
