Organisation:Disability Benefit Centre

Comment:

There are eight Disability Benefits Centres across the UK. Each one deals with all applications for Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance, within their geographical area - in this case, Strathclyde. The office also provides Medical Boarding services for claims to Severe Disablement Benefit, Industrial Injuries Benefit and War Pensions. Queries on the progress of an application can be made direct to the Centre. Once a final decision has been made the DBC will continue to deal with payments, changes in circumstances, reconsider requests and appeals for three months. After this time the claim will be transferred to the Disability Contact Processing Unit (DCPU) at Blackpool (Helpline 08457-123456) who will deal with any further aspects.
