Comment: | Abbeyfield is a charity set up to provide older people with an alternative to living alone. The house in Gloucester accommodates ten residents, each with their own bedsitting room (some en suite). The housekeeper serves a midday and evening meal in the communal dining room, and is responsible for the general well being of each resident, although no personal care is given. Each resident has their own key to their room, and to the House door, and is free to come and go as he or she chooses.
