COTIS, a registered charity, is an umbrella organisation of groups recording printed information for blind and partially sighted people which provides guidance to both users and service providers alike on the matter in which the DDA can be satisfied and how the information can best be provided in an accessible format to an accredited standard.
SERVICE PROVIDERS include - banks, building societies, places of worship, public utilities, Government depts. councils, charities, hotels, restaurants, pubs, post offices, solicitors, accountants, sports stadiums, hairdressers, shops, courts, hospitals, clinics.
AUXILIARY AIDS include - the provision of material and information in large print, on audio cassette, mini disc or CD, computer disc, in Braille, tactile maps and plans, sequence pictures, accessible websites. |
