Comment: | The Chinese National Healthy Living Centre was set up in 1987 to help members of the Chinese community:
+ find their way round the health service and get the treatment they need;
+ get counselling, information and advice for themselves and for family and friends who are unwell;
+ enjoy healthier lives through receiving practical encouragement and lifestyle information.
Their mainstream services include:
+ health promotion leaflets and videos;
+ multi-lingual health helpline;
+ carers support scheme;
+ disability support scheme;
+ health days and talks;
+ Counselling for Chinese Smokers - free counselling if you want help with giving up smoking. The bilingual counsellors offer a confidential service. The national hotline (charged at local rates) is available between 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday: 0845-601-6030.
