The Jennifer Trust offers support and advice to people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and their families. Contact between families is encouraged for the sharing of mutual experiences. Activities are held throughout the year including regional days, Christmas parties and an Annual Conference. A limited equipment fund is available to assist with the purchase of wheelchairs, seats etc. There is an equipment loan service, which includes specialist seats, wheelchairs, flowtrons and suctions machines. There is a toy and book library and a variety of publications is available.
The Jennifer Trust funds research into best management, treatments and a cure for SMA, and they provide a range of fact-sheets about SMA and issues of daily living. There are regular newsletters.
