Comment: | The East Anglia's Children's Hospice at Quidenham provides a regional palliative care servcice for children offering palliative care and respite care for approximately one hundred families of children with life threatening conditions. The service is available to children and young people. Whole families can be accommodated and the service is designed to be very flexible in order to help meet the differing needs of each family. The six-bedded Chidren's Hospice, with family accommodation, is regulated within the Independent Healthcare regulations 2002. The service is funded mainly by donations and some statutory funding (approx.10%).
Services provided include:
+ end of life care - both at home and in the hospice;
+ respite care - both at home and in the hospice;
+ family support - parents / siblings / extended family;
+ pre- and post- bereavement support;
+ advisory resource to families and professionals;
+ symptom control. |
