Comment:

There are eight Disability Benefit Centres across the UK. Each one deals with new claims for Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance, within its geographical area. The Cardiff DBC covers all of Wales, and the area formerly covered by Newcastle DBC. Queries with regard to the progress of individual applications can be sent direct to the DBC. The Customer Services managers can also arrange for someone to talk to your organisation about the allowances. Once a final decision has been made the DBC will continue to deal with payments, changes in circumstances, reconsider requests and appeals for three months. After this time the claim will be transferred to the Disability Contact Processing Unit (DCPU) at Blackpool (Helpline 08457-123456) who will deal with any further aspects.
