Comment:

There are eight Disability Benefit Centres in the UK. Each one deals with initial applications for Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance in its area. The Bootle DBC covers Merseyside, Central and North-West Lancashire, Cumbria and parts of the Wirral. They also deal with new applications for DLA only from postcode areas NE, SR and TD (AA claims from these postcode areas should be sent to the DWP Attendance Allowance Team at Palatine House, Preston PR1 1HB.

Queries with regard to the progress of initial applications should be made to the helpline on 08457-123456. Once a final decision has been made the DBC will continue to deal with payments, changes in circumstances, reconsider requests and appeals for three months. After this time the claim will be transferred to the Disability Contact Processing Unit (DCPU) at Blackpool (Helpline 08457-123456) who will deal with any further aspects.
